Scott Sherman is a contributing writer of The Nation. He was a contributing writer to Lingua Franca: The Review of Academic Life.

His work has appeared in Vanity Fair, the London Review of Books, the Washington Post, the Los Angeles Times, Newsday, Dissent and other publications.

His book on the New York Public Library, Patience and Fortitude: Power, Real Estate, and the Fight to Save a Public Library, was published by Melville House in June 2015.

For his reporting on the New York Public Library he was given the Blue Ribbon Award for Public Advocacy by Design Observer magazine in 2012.
